Cambodia // Update Seven

GRACE JONES

Just a few photos from a couple days ago. My roommate has to interview different people from Cambodia, she got to interview 3 monks. I call them "The Laughing Monks" because they just kept laughing and laughing. I never knew monks had such a great sense of humor. At the end of the interview the monks wanted to take a photo of my roommates notes, she handed them her notebook...their eyes got big and they all had the most confused look on their faces. They said "What is this?! French or something!?" Here she was writing in cursive. Their reaction was priceless.

The rest of the photos are from walking along the river in the evening. Around 5:30PM all of the street vendors and people come out and hangout along the river for the evening. I can understand why. The afternoons here are getting hotter and hotter as we approach April - that's when it gets reallllll toasty. The evenings are much cooler and much more relaxing than the heat of the day.

All of my days are starting to blur together as more things start to happen and fill in the blank spaces of my calendar. The people here seem to be very interested in photography and editing. I got the chance to teach a very nice lady how to use her camera. And I also got to teach someone the basics of Photoshop. It's been fun being able to share my knowledge with people who are thirsty to learn.

Aside from photography, I have been given the task of recording the testimonies of the CMPs (Cambodian Ministry Partners-they are the men who are spreading the Gospel all around Cambodia). WOW. That's all I have to say. It's so amazing to be able to hear their stories of redemption and of God's love. The things these men went through, it's heart breaking but it's also such a good reminder and testament of how God works through people's lives. I hope to share some of them with you in the near future!
