Cambodia // Sewing Business
GRACE JONES
This was and still is one of my favorite photo shoots I did while I was in Cambodia. These ladies and men are so fantastic.
"I had the amazing privilege to go to a near by village to photograph a small sewing business. They work in the village's church during the week. The amazing thing about this business is, it's keeping families together. They employ around 24 of the people living in the village (around one person per household). This makes it so that the mom or dad of a family don't have to go to Thailand to work to support their family in Cambodia. That's something you see happening all the time here in Cambodia. One or both of the parents leave to go work in Thailand and the children are left behind - either with a family or friend or even in a orphanage. Keeping families together in Cambodia is such a huge thing. What an encouraging day it was."
