Top 9 Kickass Wedding Venues in Ohio

GRACE JONES

9-kickass-wedding-venues-in-ohio

In the world of venues for weddings there are a million options, well today. I bring you my top 9 favorite ones located all around Ohio. There are venues for large weddings and a couple for super intimate weddings. These are just a few of my favorites, I have so many more, but thought this would be a good place to start, enjoy and happy venue searching!

FERN SHOP // CINCINNATI, OHIO

During the week, Fern is a beautifully curated plant shop. But during the weekend it can be turned into a space to hold your small intimate wedding. Recently remodeled they can now hold your closest family and friends. The atmosphere is relaxed and down to earth, it would be the perfect place to have your small intimate untraditional wedding just like Peter and Em did. Not only is it a great space to have your wedding ceremony, but also to have your wedding photos taken. They have a sweet orange velvet couch surrounded by their lovely plants just waiting for you to sit and take some photos.

CANYON RUN RANCH // PLEASANT HILL, OHIO

Nestled in the hills and valleys of western Ohio you’ll find the gem that is Canyon Run Ranch. They have one of the most beautiful proprieties I have ever seen. There is so much you can do with this space to really make it your own. The best part (in my opinion) is the ceremony location, follow the dirt path through the woods, winding around hundreds of trees and at the end is the most magical clearing filled with benches facing towards a beautifully hand made wooden arch. When it comes to photos the whole property is up for exploring, they even give you an ATV to drive around to do photos. There’s wide open meadows, rivers, goats, and lots of forest to be discovered. The barn itself is a piece of history, when you step in it’s almost like every floor board is telling you the stories that have unfolded in the barn over its lifetime. If you are looking for a beautiful, vast, spacious, earthy venue, this is the one for you.

ORCHARD HOUSE BED & BREAKFAST // GRANVILLE, OHIO

Where do I start with The Orchard House?! Their property, bed and breakfast and location is incredible! If you’re having a small wedding and want to rent out the whole place, you can! The owners are incredible people and want you to have the best day ever. The guest house is incredible, it’s filled with wonderful art and they always keep improving it. For your ceremony you and your guests will walk through the most magical path into the hidden pine forest that sits close to the house and open lawn reception area. Who wouldn’t want to be surrounded with pine trees?! The aroma is incredible and makes you feel so at peace. Once your ceremony is done, you can have your reception on the open lawn behind the guest house. What’s great about Orchard house is how you can really make it what you want. Want food trucks, you got it! Want a bounce house, you got it! Want a dinosaur petting zoo? Well, you probably can’t have that, but they do have a plethora of animals on the property that will come say “HEY!”.

JORGENSEN FARMS OAK GROVE // NEW ALBANY, OHIO

Jorgensen Farm’s Oak Grove is their newest addition to their venue and I am pretty sure it is the only place like it in Ohio. Their 100 year old greenhouse is perfect for a wedding during any season, fall, summer, winter, you name it, you can have your wedding sort-of-outside. The property itself is gorgeous, so many places to take photos! Inside of the buildings you’ll find a bridal sweet, groom sweet, a few lounge areas, a bar (perfect for cocktail hour) and the large room for your reception. When you book at Jorgensen you not only get the venue, but also an awesome wedding coordinator who is with you during your whole day and helps you plan out your day so it’s freaking awesome!

FRANKLIN PARK CONSERVATORY // COLUMBUS, OHIO

I feel like photos of Franklin Park just don’t do it justice. Their greenhouse is over 100 years old and is the most stunning place to get married. One of the things I think I love most about the space is that you get free rein to walk around the whole Conservatory to do photos. In a sense it feels like you are time traveling all around the world while doing photos. Want a more desert vibe? EASY! Want to be in Ohio, you got it! Want to get married surrounded by palm trees and other topical plants, well that’s good, because in the Palm House, that’s exactly what you’ll get. Franklin Park is a place for plant lovers, who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by plants on their wedding day? Let’s talk about relaxing as heck!

RHINEGEIST BREWERY // CINCINNATI, OHIO

This one is for you untraditional love birds out there. (and I am pretty sure it can apply to most breweries) Pete and Em had their wedding at Fern in Cincinnati and had their reception at Rhinegeist Brewery. All they did was reserve some tables and boom, it was done! They got drink tokens for their family and friends and everyone had a chill fun time together. They served pizza (because when you drink beer you must have pizza). They still did things like cutting their cake and speeches, but it was super laid back and people could come and go as they pleased.

THE EXCELSIOR ROOM ABOVE SPOON MARKET // WOOSTER, OHIO

I might be biased because I grew up in Wooster and would constantly be at Spoon getting a sandwich. The Excelsior Room is right above the market, it’s the perfect space to have a lovely reception after your wedding (you can also have your ceremony in here). My favorite part might have to be the string lights that fill the celling. The venue itself is soooo versatile. You can truly make it your own, which I think is important when it comes to venues. And a giant perk is, since the market is downstairs you can have them cater your wedding.

WINGFOOT LAKE STATE PARK // MOGADORE, OHIO

Wingfoot Lake State Park is the most underrated venue in Northeast Ohio. For the day you can rent out the shelter and do with it whatever you want. The park is surrounded by a beautiful spacious lake which almost makes you feel like you aren’t in Ohio. If you are into nature and having a chill laid back wedding day, I would highly recommend Wingfoot Lake. You can bring in food trucks and play kickball till you fall over.

STRONGWATER // COLUMBUS, OHIO

If you desire industrial vibes out the wazoo then Strongwater is the venue for you. Needless to say, it’s a HUGE space but it’s all in one place. You can get married out in the courtyard, have cocktail in the bar area and have your reception in the big gallery room. No matter what you do, it’s going to be breath taking. There are so many possibilities when it comes to decorating the space. Just like a few of the other venues you can bring in food trucks for your guests to enjoy but they also have their own catering, which is majorly drool worthy. You really can’t go wrong with Strongwater.
