When my best friend, Jenna Powers and I had the opportunity to document a floral workshop put on by The Farmers Florist and Jenn Sanchez, we jumped on it! It was a two day workshop filled with so many amazingly talented florists and so much learning. 

The first day, Christie (The Farmers Florist) showed everyone around the farm teaching the attendees about the ecosystem of the farm and how to start growing their own flowers to use for floral arrangements - from seed to stunning arrangement. They got to harvest their own flowers and forage on the farm to make a bouquet. It’s so fun to see how people in different trades create beauty. Being a photographer, alot of the creativity I see on a daily basis is photographers, but florists are on a whole other level, I kept getting so distracted watching everyone make their bouquets because it’s so fascinatingly beautiful! 

The second day, Jenn (Jenn Sanchez Designs) taught how to make stunning center pieces from all of the local flowers harvested the day before and earlier on the second day in the woods! After learning from Jenn, they started to set up an installation in one of the greenhouse that would later hang over all of us as we ate dinner as a family. Right about this time it started to downpour, some might have called it a monsoon, thankfully we were all protected by the greenhouse! 

Once the installation was hung, they made a table scape that filled a huge farmhouse table. The table scape was made from foraged things around the farm, including branches, mushrooms, and a lot of moss collected in the forest. Dinner was being made inside as everyone was setting up, dinner was AMAZING. All of the ingredients were from the farm and or within 10 miles of the farm. I am drooling just typing about it, would definitely love to eat that right now! 

It was such an honor to document this amazing workshop, if you are a florist I highly recommend learning from these two ladies, they are powerhouses and all around awesome women!
