WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!!
Let me start this out by saying, it's really weird to be a wedding photographer when you are getting married yourself...and I AM SO EXCITED!
Here's how it went down ...
The date is December 15, 2015. My friends Jenna and David are coming up from Columbus to go to the art museum in Cleveland with Brandon and I + get Korean BBQ for dinner (can't forget that important tid-bit.) ! I get up around 9AM and start getting ready to make lunch for all of them, I decided I was going to make a beet salad, so I roast the beets and prepare the other ingredients. I sit down and talk with Brandon while the beets are roasting. When I hear the timer go off I tell him I have to go peel the skins off the beets, he promptly says, "NOOOOO, YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!!!" let's just say that I knew from that moment that he was going to ask me to marry him that day. So, in normal Grace fashion I give him a hard time and say things like, "I'm going to stay in my pj's all day and peel these beets." I am sure you can imagine the look I was getting. The next big dead giveaway was that he made me stop making lunch. (You don't tell me to stop when I am cooking...) LOL. After him convincing me to go with him I gave in and said, "FINEEEEE, put the chicken in the fridge, let's go...". Off we went.
We ended up at my favorite tree on my families farm. It's so big and magical looking. We start walking out and there appears Jenna and David (by the way, Jenna and David are awesome photographers). As Brandon reads the most heartfelt speech he had prepared, Jenna and David snap away. (that was my only demand, was to have them there.) I was laughing the whole time, it's kind of a nervous laugh. Brandon was crying. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, obviously I said, "YES!".
It's still so weird and crazy and beautiful. I am so thankful for such an amazing man of God, who in a manner of months I will call my husband and live the rest of my days with him by my side.
And if you are wondering, like I was, yes we did still go to the art museum and we did get Korean BBQ.
