Peter + Emily // Surprise Proposal // Columbus, Ohio
Surprise engagements are the best! I had reached out to Peter and Emily a few months ago asking if I could do a little photo session with them, after months of trying to plan something and it never working out I think we let the idea go. Until Peter decided to propose to Emily! Peter had planned to propose a few weeks before, but the plan was foiled when Em saw the email with all of the details, so that plan was off. Since I already reached out to them to do photos, it was the perfect disguised plot for a surprise proposal.
For the past month Peter, Brandon and I have had secret meetings to plan the day to make sure it was the perfect surprise. We got to sit down and document Pete making the bracelet for Em that would be how he asked her to marry him. When they first started dating, Em gave Peter a bracelet in the same fashion that said "I love you" to proclaim her love for him (HOW STINKING CUTE!). We started the day at their house taking photos of them hanging out with their sweet animals. After that we headed to Goodale Park in Columbus to do some photos outside while their families decorated their house for a party afterwards!
After 30 minutes or so we "decided" to take a walk down to where their first apartment was. We rounded the corner on the street of their first apartment, the first thing Em says was "That dog looks like Marley!" After a few seconds, she realized it was Marley and her sister waiting at the end of the block, and behind them was their families all gathered around ready to celebrate! Marley came over to give Emily the bracelet Peter had made that said, "Will you marry me?" AHHH so much cuteness, it was so beautiful. After lots of tears and smiles, Emily said yes and was greeted by their families.
I am so excited for these two, they are so perfect for each other and just in general awesome humans. I am so honored and thankful that we could help surprise the heck out of Emily! Congratulations Em + Peter!!!
