Miranda + Corey // Kickball, Swenson's and a Wedding // Wingfoot Lake State Park

GRACE JONES

Grace Jones Favorites-0005.jpg

I remember when Miranda and Corey reached out to me, they told me about how they were doing a bunch of non-traditional elements to their wedding day, including a Swenson’s food truck and playing kickball with all of their guests at the end of the day. They are filled with so much excitement and zest for living. Their beautiful wedding day was at Wingfoot Lake State Park in Akron, Ohio (which is also where I did one of my first weddings, crazy how life brings you in a full circle!)

During their portraits, Corey and I started to talk about pizza and he told me how much he lovesss Chicago style pizza, I think I blew his mind when I told him there is a Giordano’s in Columbus, which they just happened to be driving through as they left for their honeymoon. Mid photos he stops, pulls out his phone and tells Google to remind him to stop and get some on the way to Hocking Hills for their honeymoon. Anyone who loves pizza that much is automatically my friend!

We also got to play on the swings near their ceremony/reception sight. My motto is “your never to old to swing on swings.” I feel like they fully agreed with me on that one.

Ashely + Aaron // Anniversary Session // Columbus, Ohio

GRACE JONES

Grace Jones Favorites-0026.jpg

When couples say they are down to do whatever, even if it’s doing their session out in the rain, those are my kind of people. I was so excited when Ashley and Aaron said they were down to do their photos in the rain. *heart eye emojis* I met them at some land their family recently bought + where they hope to someday build a home. We wandered around the property in the rain and had such a wonderful time together! Rain is definitely something you shouldn’t be afraid of when it comes to photos, if anything I think it makes it more personable and intimate. P.S. Ashely is also an amazing photographer + Aaron is an incredible tattoo artist, check out their work here from the links below.

Allison + Jake // Camping Anniversary Session // Mohican State Park

GRACE JONES

Grace Jones Favorites-0038.jpg

Allison and Jake are some downright amazing humans! When Allison reached out to me and told me her idea for their anniversary session I was jumping around for joy because it sounded like so much fun! She said that they were going to go camping and that they wanted photos of them hanging out and enjoying themselves in the great outdoors. On the day of their session I met up with them at their campsite in the Mohican State Park. They were gracious enough to make me dinner, we got to sit around the table and enjoy each others company before we started taking photos. After dinner we hung out around the campsite, telling stories and taking photos. Jake told me that recently in their hometown of Mount Vernon the big news was that there was an alien sighting, and graciously later in our shoot he recreated the description of the sighting, it had both Allison and I rolling on the ground laughing our heads off. These two are just wonderful humans and I had so much fun documenting their love for each other!
